Pràctiques improductives

De l’afany per produir sense parar i la reflexió que en sorgeix al respecte, aquest projecte és el resultat d’un possible acte absurd que es basa en la feina constant i repetitiva. És així com vàries peces engloben una mateixa praxis aparentment improductiva que es presenta a mode d’instal·lació.

El diari és un producte de fàbrica que perd el seu ús original inevitablement al cap de 24 hores. D’altra banda, la informació que conté es torna repetitiva amb el pas dels dies i la notícia s’acaba convertint en informació superficial que manca d’exclusivitat i narrativa. Per això, l’artista fa ús del diari per passar-lo per un procés artesanal a partir del reciclatge. Ella es converteix en la fàbrica que adopta un procés de treball per tal que la reproducció de les seves pàgines quedin alterades. A mesura que passen els dies, un nou diari s’acumula ja que ha perdut la seva singularitat i s'ha transformat en un feix de fulles homogènies i neutres que impossibiliten fer una lectura de la informació que contenia, posant en dubte així, el valor del seu contingut.

L’acumulació de totes les portades del diari La Vanguardia, des de l’1 de gener fins al 31 de desembre de 2021 esdevé un acte rutinari sense cap finalitat clara. La importància rau en el procés d’acumulació amb la voluntat de produir quelcom en algun moment. Poc a poc, les portades queden obsoletes i amb el temps es converteixen en runes d’una informació que en el seu moment precís van ser importants. Totes juntes es consoliden en un bloc; la runa convertida en runa.

La seqüència audiovisual pretén reflectir el neguit de l’acte de qüestionar-se constantment preguntes que no sempre tenen una resposta clara. El procés mecànic i reiterat. Escriure i reescriure. Escriure i esborrar per tornar a escriure. Qüestionar-se i tornar-se a qüestionar (accés a través del codi QR).

From the keenness to produce unceasingly and from the reflection that I do in this process, I understand this project as the result of a possible absurd act that is based on constant and repetitive work. This is how several pieces encompass the same praxis, apparently unproductive, which is presented as an installation.

A newspaper is a factory product that inevitably loses its original use after 24 hours. Likewise, the information it contains becomes repetitive as the days go by and so the news ends up becoming superficial information that lacks exclusivity and narrative. For this reason, the newspaper goes through an artisanal process, which is based on recycling. Through this artisanal process, I become the factory that adopts a work process so that the reproduction of its pages are altered. As the days go by, a new newspaper loses its singularity and transforms into a bundle of homogeneous and neutral sheets. In this way, it accumulates with the previous newspapers, which makes it impossible to read the information it contains, thus casting doubt on the value of its content.

From January 1st to December 31st 2021, the accumulation of all the covers of the newspaper ´La Vanguardia, ´ becomes a routine without any clear purpose. The importance lies in the process of accumulation with the will to produce something at some point. Over time, the covers become obsolete so they turn into a rubble of information that was important at a specific time. All together they are consolidated into a block, so in the end, it is rubble turned into rubble.

The audiovisual sequence aims to reflect the unease of constantly questioning oneself with questions that do not always have a clear answer. The mechanical and repetitive process. Writing and rewriting. Writing and erasing only to write again. Questioning and questioning oneself once more (access through the QR code).
