Sobre l’artista

Laura Carreras Daura és artista interdisciplinària graduada en Belles Arts per la Universitat de Barcelona. Darrerament ha exposat en espais locals com la Sala Muncunill de Terrassa amb Punts de retorn (2024), així com també internacionalment, amb el projecte Threads of Fujiyoshida: nature meets fabric (2024) al Japó.

Ha participat en esdeveniments com Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana amb la peça Dietari: maig de 2024, Terrassa. També ha presentat obra en exposicions col·lectives com la 15a Ruta de l’Art (2022) a Castelló d’Empúries, a Sant Just Desvern amb Igni (2022) i a Art Emergent Sabadell (2021), entre altres. Algunes de les seves obres han estat publicades a Revistart.

Tot i treballar amb diferents materials i tècniques, la seva obra té una tendència escultòrica marcada per una actitud de treball artesanal i que sovint presenta a través d'instal·lacions, ja que l’artista prioritza la interacció que l’espectador té amb la peça mentre transita l’espai.

Durant el seu recorregut, l’artista ha treballat principalment amb materials i tècniques com el paper reciclat i el ferro. No obstant això, les últimes obres han incorporat el tèxtil, aconseguint, en alguns casos, combinar les diferents matèries per aconseguir noves formes i textures.

About the artist

Laura Carreras Daura is an interdisciplinary artist with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Recently, she has exhibited in local spaces such as Sala Muncunill in Terrassa with Punts de retorn (2024), as well as internationally with the project Threads of Fujiyoshida: nature meets fabric (2024) in Japan.

She has participated in events such as Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana with the piece Dietari: maig de 2024, Terrassa. She has also presented work in group exhibitions like the 15th Ruta de l'Art (2022) in Castelló d’Empúries, Igni (2022) in Sant Just Desvern, and Art Emergent Sabadell (2021), among others. Some of her works have been published in Revistart.

Despite working with different materials and techniques, her work has a sculptural tendency marked by an artisanal approach, often presented through installations, as the artist prioritizes the interaction of the viewer with the piece as they move through the space.

Throughout her career, the artist has mainly worked with materials and techniques such as recycled paper and iron. However, her latest works have incorporated textiles, achieving in some cases a combination of different materials to create new forms and textures.
