Dietari (maig del 2024, Terrassa)

Amb aquesta peça, l'artista recupera el diari com a concepte i recurs procedimental, així com l’acumulació d’informació produïda, una metodologia que ja havia seguit en obres anteriors. En aquest cas, però, s'enfoca en un mateix territori i en les accions quotidianes que hi duu a terme.

L'artista pren l'acció de caminar i transitar l'espai de la ciutat de Terrassa com una alternativa a l'escriptura d'un dietari, cercant, doncs, les formes que es dibuixen a partir dels traços que marquen el recorregut fet durant tot el dia.

Quan camino i em desplaço per la ciutat de Terrassa, enregistro els recorreguts diàriament, i aquests es transformen en figures fragmentades que formen part d’un mateix mapa, però que pertanyen a dies diferents. El dia a dia es converteix en un trencaclosques que forma part d’un tot. Era interessant donar forma a les accions que faig cada dia, partint dels camins que creo en transportar-me d’un lloc a un altre.

La formalització de la peça consisteix en un llibre fet completament de tela que inclou trenta-una pàgines amb els recorreguts cosits diàriament durant el mes de maig. La portada del llibre mostra el mapa resultant de tots els itineraris.

Dietari: maig del 2024, Terrassa ha estat produït en el context del cicle d’intervencions artístiques El lloc sempre és nou, comissariat per Cecília Coca per la Focus Week de la Biennal Manifesta 15 a Terrassa.

With this piece, the artist revisits the diary as both a concept and procedural resource, as well as the accumulation of produced information—a methodology already explored in previous works. In this case, however, the focus is on a single territory and the everyday actions performed there.

The artist takes the act of walking and moving through the space of the city of Terrassa as an alternative to diary writing, seeking out the forms that emerge from the traces left by each day’s journey.

When I walk and move through the city of Terrassa, I record my routes daily, and these transform into fragmented shapes that are part of the same map, though belonging to different days. Each day becomes a piece of a puzzle that forms part of a whole. I found it interesting to give shape to the actions I perform each day, starting from the paths I create as I move from one place to another.

The piece takes the form of a completely fabric-made book that includes thirty-one pages with routes stitched daily throughout the month of May. The book cover shows the resulting map of all the itineraries.
